Day 707--a two-hour day
The plan was to go one-hour slow and then push it for the last hour, but for some reason I just was not feeling it. I officially had my slowest training run of the year with an average pace 8:58/mi. I felt sore and tired and according to my heart rate I was working hard. The wind was intense and it was uncomfortably cold for shorts, but really too warm to wear anything heavier. I was listening to an audiobook (Armada), which might have had some effect on my running.
I saw a dead bird as I ran. It had a yellow chest and I
wondered what kind of bird it was. I also saw a discarded pair of glasses. They were clear, granny glasses that had a hint of translucent gray. I thought about picking them up and taking a picture of them, but instead I decided to leave them on the sidewalk (just in case their owner would come back for them). I imagined that they belonged to an old lady that was not physically able to pickup the glasses. She probably dropped them on her way to the White Castle --poor lady.
