Day 3091 —Yes, you May go Running Today— with a PICTURE of a YOUNG TREE
When some people hear “no,” they immediately respond negatively, and it doesn’t really matter what you’re telling them no to.
“No, you cannot jump up on the table.”
“No, you cannot play with knives!”
One thing I consciously do is try to phrase things, so I do not say, “no.”
“Please, sit in your desk right now.”
“If you want to cut something, we have plastic scissors you can use.”
I stumbled upon a family of deer this morning. They didn’t get up when I arrived, and then didn’t run away when I left: there is a first time for everything.
