Day 3106 —Still Nice! And my Blood Work! It is Cleary not just Genetics! — see the BLUE SKY at http://virtuesruns.blogspot.com/

So happy to have made it to today! I would have liked to do more being such a nice day and all, but I have other things to do, so I will try to reschedule for a long run tomorrow. I just looked at my bloodwork from yesterday, and I was especially curious because I had not got my bloodwork done since I became a vegan. Big surprise even though my weight is not that different my cholesterol went down 57 points and my protein levels changed from 7.7 to 7.6, still well within the normal range.

And, to be clear I took no protein supplements powders or any type of diet that focused on protein. I have eaten and will continue to eat primarily fruits, vegetables, and legumes. I have no plans, nor do I take time to think about the overall balance when eating like this.

I am sorry if why I am saying this is not clear, but a lot of people will tell me how complicated their diet plans are, and a lot of vegans even go out of their way to talk about how it is important for us to focus on protein. This kind of logic frustrates me because I have found no evidence in my personal life nor scientific evidence to support this idea that we need to eat meat to get protein. It is just kind of the only thing that meat has compared to when you eat like I do everything has protein and a bunch of other good nutrients, so why eat meat to get a little bit of something you can get from healthy food too? It is just not a super efficient way to eat.
