Day 4,583—Almost 35 for the Week So Far!—
Start time: 4:34 a.m.
It was more like mist than rain this morning when I started my run, but water droplets fell from the heavens and melted on my hair and clothes. It was chilly when I started, so I hoped that was the worst of it, and after running for 10 minutes or so, I stopped thinking about the water or the cold. I am still glowing from the news this week. I have been checking for updates on the close races multiple times a day. There are two seats in particular that I think would be amazing to pick up. It is still so unbelievable. I have been listening to every news podcast in the morning, just craving more content talking about it because part of me still wonders if this is real?! How could this be the same country that allowed the 2024 election to take place? Maybe I needed this reminder that people change, and it seems like, in particular, that party loyalty is going away, which is probably a good thing. I don’t believe anyone should follow anyone or anything on blind faith. Blind faith is a recipe for abuse in all relationships, and good leaders would never advocate for blind faith.
This run was mostly fun after I got through the first couple of miles of wondering which direction I was going. Once I settled into this route, it wasn’t long before I could think about what kind of run I was going to do tomorrow. I no longer have to run because I am training for something, but because I want to, and I want to have a lot of fun, ridiculous runs in the next two months. I don’t have that much time until my next race. I know it is at least 8 weeks away, which means I don’t have to think about it for at least the next 2 months. Also, this next one should be mostly flat and not that technical, but I will have to read more about it to make sure. It will be my first race like that since 2025! I don’t think I even considered that until now; all the races I have done this year have been more technical and hilly, except the one in Florida, but that one had its own unique challenges with the heat index of 110. There is a lot to be excited about! I am still making progress on the video! I don’t know if I will be done by tomorrow morning, but it is finally coming together!
