Day 3,390—Mental Packing—

I have started to finalize my travel plans for the Shawnee Hill 100 this month. I have been thinking about what I plan to keep in my drop-bags this time and what I might plan for my dad to have.

This is the first time I have ever planned on running the same 100-mile race. I think I will do the Shippey again in January, but other than that, I am not sure. There are still more local races that I haven’t tried yet.

I plan to take advantage of my experience this year and focus on what I end up needing and what I don’t need. I bring so much food to these things and then end up rarely eating anything. I want food that will cool me down, like frozen fruit and popsicles that’s what I need in my cooler.

I will plan on bringing less and keeping everything in bags, so I can dump stuff out and look through it later.

I want to prevent what happened during the Fall Creek 100, I had to dump my stuff out of my drop-bag in frustration, looking for my headlamp.
