Day 3,583 —a Spontaneous Marathon—

I felt surprisingly tired after my short run yesterday, so I was thinking I would most likely do another shorter run. I didn’t put on anything to prevent chafing, and I didn’t bring anything to drink.

What started as a slow first hour, turned into a much more focused second hour. I figured why not keep going after I was a little more than half done and just not ready for this run to end.

There were so many people out today, and most people were running in shorts. I was still wearing my pants and a light gray hoodie, but I was still comfortable.

In Webster, I noticed this sign. I thought the use of “we” was ambiguous. People from Webster celebrate Black History Month? And if so, is the author suggesting other communities in St. Louis don’t celebrate Black History Month?

If it was referring to all people in St. Louis, wouldn’t it read, “St. Louis Celebrates Black History Month!”

I was desperately looking for something to drink after mile 20, and I finally got that drink at a Walgreens at mile 24. I would have preferred to keep going at a similar pace to the end, but I had to stop and get something to drink. When I got home, I desperately wanted to take a nap.
