Day 2,727 —Couldn’t Find Perseus— with my PICTURE of PINK ROSES
Perseus is my youngest cat. He only recently turned one. My wife saved him on a cold night in November 2020 when we found him seeking warmth under the hood of my car. He usually is the first one up in the morning. He greets me with a combination of cat sounds and prodding my face with his paws. This morning he was not there. My other two cats were up and wanting food, so I fed them thinking that Perseus would appear when he heard me with the food, but he did not come.
I searched the house for next ten-minutes. It felt like an eternity. I checked the places he usually hangs out first. Next, I started looking through all the closets and cabinets that he might get stuck in. He was not there. I kept looking at the other cats asking them where he was. I knew that they knew, and they have frequently helped me find each other. Ulysses has been lost more than once and Telemachus always helps me find him, but they were not telling me anything.
I was at the point when I was running out of places to look and started talking louder calling out for him, and then I heard his meow. I don’t know why I opened my front door, but I did, and there he was trapped between the door and the screen door. I gave him a hug and he purred, and I gave him his breakfast.
I don’t know how that happened, but now I have one more place to check before I go to bed. I am upset that he was stuck there at least for hours, but I am glad he is okay.
I wish I had more time to run, and I am supposed to do a long run this weekend, but I have been struggling keeping up with work and school recently.
I am doing the best that I can.
