Day 3,028 — Is that a Beaver? — with a PICTURE from COLORADO IV

I noticed the beaver walking towards the Aldi’s at the bottom of a Wal-Mart parking lot. I started walking slowly closer to it to be sure. It was small and brown and had a wide dark brown tail. She was not as big as other beavers I have seen before, but there was no mistaking that tail, and the way it was moving in the parking lot. 

         I see some raccoons sometimes. And sometimes I will see a possum, and I see deer frequently. But this is the first beaver I have ever seen so close to where I live. I wonder where he is coming from? I know the creek area where he walked back to before I left connects to the River Des Peres, so maybe she came through that way? 

         I didn’t think beavers lived alone though, so I wonder where she was going. There was no water that way, so I am glad she went back towards the creek / stream area.   

         I also saw someone’s muffler on the sidewalk. It rained here last evening.
