Day 3,604 —it was All Going So Well until I drank Vitamin Water—
I used to love the stuff when I was younger, but I have not had it for years. I finally stopped to get something to drink at a gas station around mile 20. I had an orange Gatorade from the fountain. I was still thirsty about a mile later, so I stopped again. This time, there was no Gatorade in the fountain drink, so I tried the only option they had—Pomegranate Vitamin Water.
I drank it down quickly while I was waiting in line to pay. I almost immediately started feeling awful and had to start walking. My stomach was cramping, and I felt like I was going to be sick. I struggled to finish this marathon today, walking it to the end when I finished.
I had to stop and get something else to drink just to offset the vitamin water. Close to mile 25 at CVS, I saw coconut water stuck in the top row. Luckily, I had just noticed this guy who was easily 6'5", and he was nice enough to get the drink for me.
Otherwise, it was fun to run by the river in Fenton. I don’t think I have ever run over there before, and it was fun. The only struggle is running down those roads without a sidewalk that takes you to the park by the river. They’re incredibly steep and have several blind spots, but still, it was worth it. Those runs are easier when it is earlier.
