Day 3,632 —One Week! Until the Ozark Foothills 100!—

My right foot was hurting yesterday when I was walking around the house. Today, I didn’t want to do a lot, but other than my foot, I felt good, and it was finally such a nice day! The sun was bright, and it was in the 70s. Perfect running weather. As of now, I have done nothing to prepare for the race besides the training part. I also have two projects for classes to finish this week, but I am confident I will figure things out. I just cannot get over the idea that I will be doing a 100-mile race and possibly not in extreme weather conditions. That’s not fair; the weather was fine during Mamba; I just wasn’t feeling it, but now I definitely feel like I should have just slept in between laps until I finished if I had to. I need to do a better job of taking a break and not feeling like I need to make a major decision every time I feel like giving up. But there is always something to work on.

It looks like the top times on this race are faster than I thought! Last year the person one in a time of 24:42:01 but the fastest time is 19:28:16. Last year, 5 finished, 7 started but didn’t finish and 3 didn’t start.

This year 24 people have signed up for the race.
