Day 3059 —100 Miles in Every State— with a PICTURE of a PINK FLOWER
I spent the morning writing papers for class, like the old days. I went towards the trail and ran past several barking dogs. Other runners passed me with a wave or a head nod going in the opposite direction.
It was dark, like early evening, more rain coming, but it made me reflect on the week and the months and think about what is coming. I think I want to complete this 100-mile run in Tennessee, and I think I want to borrow Richard’s idea: to run a 100-mile race in every state in the US!
It is one of those goals that I don’t know if I will ever complete, but it sounds like a fun thing to try and see how close I get. I got a long way to go until it starts getting more difficult logistically. I have two so far (Illinois and Michigan), now I am going to plan for Tennessee in November and Missouri in January. If I do at least three a year, I will be done in 16 years. Is there one in Alaska?
If I had the money, I would want to complete one, 100-mile race every two weeks. Afterwards, I would have a book of stories about all the races.
