Day 3,000 —When Numbers get Serious— with a PICTURE of TRAIN TRACKS in the MORNING #772
Paul Simon sang: “When numbers get serious / You see their shape everywhere.” When I started running every day, I felt like a hundred days seemed like a lot, but after a 100 the number started to lose its meaning. Most days I don’t remember what day I am on.
3,000 seems like a lot of days to run in a row, but in a lot of ways it does not seem that different from a 100.
Maybe, that’s why I am always changing the goal and have stopped focusing on my PRs as much, but at the same time I am still focusing on a different set of numbers (and adding variables), by going from a paved 100 to a trail 100. Numbers do get serious.
