Day 3,003 —Pretty Bee — with a PICTURE of GEESE and GOSLINGS #775

When I was struggling for a moment during the race, I had to remind myself why I do this. Nobody does an ultra-race because they thought it would be easy. The most rewarding part for me isn’t the finish line but working through the struggle and the pain. The deeper in the pain I get, the more rewarding digging myself out is.

Every race has a unique struggle. The course was easy and flat, so it was difficult to stay present. I made a dumb mistake by distracting myself with audiobooks and music too early.

I used to be better at these types of courses, but not recently, so I am glad I did it for that reason as well. I enjoy mixing things up with different types of races. The humidity was intense, and the loop was monotonous, but truthfully easiest course I have been on all year.
