Day 3,443—to the ARCH! —

There is a picture of the arch in my background at work, and someone commented about it yesterday. It is one of the pictures I took on my first planned ultra training run. I ran 54 miles that day to make up for the race that was canceled due to COVID-19. Every time I see that picture, I remember getting there at sunrise and taking it.

Today was not as dramatic. I left after sunrise, so there was no rush to get there on time. I brought my credit card and phone, and the weather was cool without being cold. Once I made it to the arch, I finally got some water. None of the water fountains were open outside, but there was one easy to find in the building.

It was my first time walking in and seeing all the changes since I had been there as a kid. There were a lot of families there now, as well as people pushing infants and strollers. I felt inspired to take my family. When I got home, I showed her the pictures of the arch I had taken and asked her if she would like to go there.

She didn’t look up from her coloring and said, “No, thank you.”

I guess I shouldn’t feel bad for putting it off. Maybe I’ll go back tomorrow and try to make it at sunrise.
