Day 3,310 —Long Half—

I stopped and walked going up a hill, realizing I was pushing myself too hard. Where did this hot and humid weather come from all of a sudden? I am glad that 50-mile race is in the woods, where there isn’t a lot of sun. I had to stop at a Walgreens to get something to drink. It was so busy, and I felt a little embarrassed to be so sweaty. I guess it is understandable considering the circumstance, but I am not used to being so hot during a run. It seemed like I was waiting in line for an eternity as the worker cheerfully made small talk with the person in front of me as I patiently waited. I tried to stand as far away from everyone else as possible while still communicating that I was in the line.

When she rang up my one drink, she made no small talk and seemed surprised to report that I would not be receiving a receipt, “it looks like your preference is no receipt, so you’re done. You can go.”

I drank my Gatorade across the street. It surprised, but I had really needed a drink and to sit down.
