Day 3,320 —to the Pond!—

Instead of closing my eyes and counting my breath, I decided to keep my eyes open as I sat on a fallen log on the edge of a pond. I thought about how many stories the pond must comprise! I wondered what might live at the bottom of the pond. There might be fish, frogs, and lizards, that I don’t see, but I am sure there is so much more. I always hear animals moving around behind me. I have stopped looking, but when I do they are usually squirrels. Although I wasn’t sure if it was the one making the noise, I did see a squirrel jump from the top of the tree when I glanced up.

My point is there is so much going on in a pond if only I could sit here long enough to see. Maybe, I will start an informal study of this pond, at least visiting as frequently as I can and taking pictures.

Watch my three-minute video of my experience at the Berryman! There is always so much that happens in those races but it is tough deciding what to focus on. I am curious about what parts of the race people might want to see.
