Day 4,077—Starting Earlier—
I have been annoyed by all the cars on the road each day. I have been starting my run not late, but after 7 days out of 10 this summer, and while it was nice at first to sleep in, I have missed the solitude that the morning provides. Even today, starting my run at 6:30, so many cars were already out, and people were on the road, the sun was blasting its rays indiscriminately like it had something to prove. The sun was shouting obscenities down on me as I got salt in my eyes. It wasn’t that hot, but it felt like the sun was being aggressive. I am thinking of seriously signing up for another point-to-point 100-mile race that is the first week of August. Even though Monday will be my first day back at work, I cannot help but think about how much fun that might be, ending the summer with a bang. It is also only a 5-hour drive, so I should be back a lot earlier on Sunday compared to the Huron 100. It is good to have something to look forward to, and this race will be a nice end to the summer. Who knows what will be happening in the country in August?! Maybe, the Marines will be deployed everywhere by then, rounding up everyone in the streets. It is a scary time to be alive.
