Day 4,082—Still Hot—

I wanted to complete a marathon distance by Sunday, so I went back out around 3:30 p.m. yesterday. I am not sure if it was a mistake or not, but I don’t regret it. It is easy to get into a funk if you don’t do a long run with a few weeks of a 100-mile run, so I needed it mentally, if not physically, but today I was so flipping tired and sore. I struggled to get up by 7 a.m. and then sat and read for a couple of hours, not wanting to do anything.

So happy for my running friend Travis, who won the Dark 2 Dawn on Saturday night! It was the first race I had ever won, a few years ago, so it holds a special place for me. I haven’t had much luck with it since, but in every race, there are so many factors to consider. He said he was interested in doing the Badger 100 in August, so I am thinking now that I will do it. It would be a good way to end the summer, something to look forward to, and I will be able to mark off another start on my map. I am only 4 now, so I still have a long way to go, but I like the goal of the guy that I met during the Huron 100. 100, 100-mile races, and all 50 states! I don’t know if I can get there, but I can try.
