Day 4,334—Making a List—

No snow on the ground today. I had no doubt that it wouldn’t snow, but it was odd that I saw a National Weather Service alert. Maybe some areas will be worse, but snow doesn’t matter when the ground isn’t frozen, so I am a little confused by all the concern. Regardless, I didn’t want to go outside in the rain this morning. I motivated myself with the knowledge that I didn’t need to do a lot of running today. Once up, I did some pushups and thought about the things I am looking forward to this week. Sure, I have a staff meeting after work, but no official class tonight, just a 15-minute evaluation with my teacher, so that’s a boon. Also, this week is a short week with students. We have PD on Friday, so that’s something. I am also making progress on the Oscar movies. Only 3 and a half left, and my goal will be to watch some of one each night this week, so I can finish them all by Sunday. I started F1 yesterday, and I have been enjoying more than I thought I would but overall, not a great year for Oscar movies so far. Sure there has been some standouts but overall thin. I also don’t get the hype around Sinners. It is a good movie but uneven. Yet, still better than a lot of the other Oscar ones I have seen so far.

When I was out there, I marveled at how pretty the slushy snow was when it was caught in the lights of the parking lot across the street. I thought I should take a picture, but I didn’t and kept running. I went as far as the trail close to my house when I saw a group of deer gathered in a giant hole that sometimes serves as a pond when there is enough rain. I wondered why not go somewhere else in the rain, and again I thought I should take a picture, but I didn’t. I kept hearing the slushy rain hitting the top of my rain jacket, and then the rubbing of my rain jacket against my head. I thought that sound was one of the most annoying things about running in the rain. I forgot to take a picture until I got home and was doing more pushups. I placed one of my coffee cups next to my record player, with a speaker positioned behind it.
