Day 4,354—What’s Next—
I finished the write-up and a draft of the video, so I am hoping to post it with this when I finish everything. I ran such a long time ago now, but it was a solid conservative run. My body has been so exhausted recently, so I didn’t want to do another longer day, but I wanted to finish at least 50 miles for the week. I was thinking that might be a good goal for next week, too, maybe a little more, but not a lot. I don’t have another big race for a while, so I've got a little time to recover, but I will feel better when I decide what I want to do next. The only problem with doing the 100 mile race in Nebraska is that it would be back-to-back after the Berryman 50, which would mean I would need to miss the 50-mile race that I haven’t missed for 4 years. At the same time, the consistency of my local 50-mile race isn’t everything, and I was always willing to do it as long as it fit in my schedule, but that might not be the case this year. It is always a brutal run. The marathon is only three weeks away, but my goal for this year will be to finish without any major issues, as I have had in the past two years. I am not expecting a great time, but it should be fun, and hopefully, this year, my time will be more representative of what I am usually able to do.
Please watch the race video and share your feedback—I always find your insight and thoughts encouraging. I made sure to answer the following same questions throughout this race but I am still open about changing and / or adding more questions:
How many times had I fallen?
What time is it, and what mile am I on?
Have I used the bathroom recently?
Have I eaten recently?
And a hydration update.
