Day 2,545 —Trying to Run like my Daughter— (with pictures of Rustic Paths)

She is not even two yet, but she has a better stride than me. She smiles and laughs when she runs and goes all out all the time. She is always running in the middle of the street, and I have to chase her and move her to the sidewalk, but she doesn’t want to run on the sidewalk, so she looks back at me aggravated as she heads back to the street.

I was thinking about the joy I see in each step she takes. I was trying to have fun too, but I scratched my leg and got my shoes muddy, which only made me think how much my daughter would love to play in the mud.

I really want to buy a new pair of shoes, but on short notice I don’t know if I will be able to find anything that would be worth the money.

I already have so much to do before the marathon on Sunday. I guess it doesn’t really matter anyway, but I feel like new shoes.

I looked at a pair yesterday that I liked, but it didn’t have any reinforcement around the toes, so I couldn’t imagine they would last more than a few hundred miles.
