Day 2,549 —the Day After the Race— with a PICTURE of the SUNRISE
I still got that —just ran a marathon— energy going for me. There is so many things I want to do, but the day is short. I stayed up late last night starting a bunch of things and eating varieties of dairy free ice cream. I felt like I was really binging, but in reality, I didn’t eat that much. I was extremely hungry when I woke up from my nap yesterday. I think next time I will make some energy snacks to eat during a relatively shorter run like the marathon. I made sure to eat that morning, but I was getting really hungry after about two and a half hours of running.
I always think the day after a race matters almost just as much as the race. Can you still go run some miles, or are you too sore to walk? I used to struggle through a mile after most marathons, but today going slow and taking it easy was a lot of fun. I even listened to the mix I made for the marathon that I didn’t listen to yesterday.
I am really looking forward to the 68-mile run coming up. I know it will be tough, but I like running slower now for longer distance versus the faster marathon runs.
