Day 2,546 —Eating Broccoli with my Daughter— (with a picture of Clouds at the Webster Rec Center)
The light runs continue! One of the good things about race week is not having to do a lot of miles and not feeling guilty about it! I am enjoying my extra time in the morning and have been mostly spending it writing. I have been keeping the headphones at home this week and have been just focusing on my breathing and the sound of each step I take.
Last night my daughter was having some alarming eating habits all of the sudden. She kept insisting on eating bread. I mean it is seed bread, so it is not all bad, but still not as good as fruits and vegetables which is what we usually eat.
Then she went after some left over Chipotle in the fridge. Again, it is still plant based but more seasoning than I would prefer she eat. When we took it away from her, she started to throw a fit and I was suddenly concerned thinking about the future and if this behavior continues.
Then I got out some raw broccoli, and she smiled and ate it with me. She likes crunching things, but we have never given her raw broccoli before. We split a plate of broccoli. When we finished all the florets, she went after the stalk smashing it in her face greedily.
If I want her to eat pure plant base, I need to eat pure plants around her constantly. She is always watching my habits and following my example, which gives me a good reason to eat more broccoli. What would I do without her?
Happy Friday!
