Day 2,566 —It is Good to be Me— (with a picture of a Winter Skyline)
Sometimes I get down on myself and think, “wouldn’t it be nice to just be someone different?” From the outside, it always appears that other people have it easier than me, things that are hard for me, appear effortless to some. However, most of the time I love who I am and what I have done with my life.
I imagine a lot of people feel like I do, but it is really just empty thinking. All you got is you—whoever that might be—which is why I think what Mister Rodgers would say, “I love you just the way you are,” had so much power. Most people don’t feel loved just the way they are. Most people feel like they need to change to be loved. And I am not saying people should not work towards being a more complete person; they should, but they need to want to do that first, and it is hard to want to do anything when you don’t feel loved.
I have had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but one thing I am forever thankful for is that I have always had people in my life that have loved me unconditionally. I don’t know who I would be today without that love because I didn’t always love myself.
My run was calming and peaceful. I was able to slow down and not feel rushed.
I hope you have a good day, and I love you just the way you are.
