Day 2,564 —Running by Moonlight while thinking about the different worlds people live in— with a picture from the Eads Bridge

Another run listening to nothing but the birds chirping and the sound of a train in the distance. I saw one train moving slowly while I was running down Watson. I love seeing the front of the train’s light shining brightly out in front of it, moving so slowly, so picturesque on a hill behind the small store fronts.

I was thinking about how students who cheat on their work never own up to it. Even if you have the printout from the website, they got it from in front of them, they just stare at you stuck in denial. I want to get in there somehow and help them out of the distorted reality that they have built for themselves, but I am helpless to do so. They build their wall so well to protect themselves from the outside world. They must hold on to their version of reality. They don’t let go.
