Day 2,561 —More Rain Different Day— (with a Picture of Lewis and Clark)

I was originally planning on doing a long trail run today, but I am still not feeling great. I was up coughing and have a sore throat etcetera. So I was thinking maybe four hours in the rain wouldn’t be super helpful to my recovery?

I did a little over an hour instead, and it felt easy and fine like you might imagine. I’ve been running in my new pairs of shoes recently. Today I used the Altra Timp 2.0, which I have already put Shoe Goo on anticipating the toe area to fall apart within the first 100 miles. I hope it works. They are a good pair of shoes otherwise.

Enjoy your Saturn day! I hope for full recovery soon, but if I have learned anything it is that I never get better if I don’t slow down. I am just anxious now to get some longer runs in. I know my body can do it, but mentally it has been tough, so I want to prepare myself for the K82 (68 for me). If you have done this race before, I am still curious about some logistic things.
