Day 3177 —Taking my Time— with a WINTER MORNING II
I knew my heart rate was 150 before I looked at my watch. I focused and had it down to 130 within the next 30 seconds. I thought about my form and remembered my forever pace that always feels light and free. Next, I thought about how my breathing must remain independent from my steps. It is easy to get into the bad habit of breathing in the same rhythm as you run, but it just leads to taking short breaths and working harder than necessary. I know I should be thinking about work and school right now, but all I can think about is running the Shippey. It's fewer than two weeks away!
