Day 3,854 —Last Run until the Grand Canyon: still haven’t packed—
I
decided I needed to run before I was ready to start packing. I was debating
bringing only two small bags, but I figured I would need to run first to be
able to make any decisions. I have been listening to this book about how people
eat, but I turned it off and marveled at the silence. It wasn’t that much
earlier than my normal run, but it made a huge difference.
I stopped to take a picture. It was a struggle to stay present. When I got home, I moved my items from the ground to a bag and talked with my wife and son. My dad took me to the airport, and we discussed the most recent Frasier episode. When I went through the security checkpoint, they didn’t check my boarding pass. Wheels up soon.
I
am editing this now in the airport, and I don’t have a lot of expectations.
This is always the struggle of doing things when there are so many other things
going on. I need the distraction, but to proceed with this distraction, I need
to focus.
