Day 3,860 —Finished the Grand Canyon Video!—
It was difficult to cut any of the footage of all the rocks and the different kinds of terrain, but I managed. What an amazing trip! I am still in disbelief that I did that over the weekend. I for sure would like to do it again. I bet if I was pushing it I could get under 13 hours, maybe not, but now I want to try. The path in the canyon is easy, so next time, I could plan to fly through that area both ways and focus on a steady walk up the two Rims. That’s the main thing I would pace differently, but I wouldn’t change anything about what happened this time. Possibly, bring more water up the North Rim.
All I can think about now is how peaceful it was at the bottom of the canyon. We all saw some kind of cat down there when we were heading back. It was small but I guess could have been a young mountain lion or a bobcat. The eyes were yellow, and the ears were up, but it didn’t move at all. Now, I would like to know all the different animals that live on the bottom of the canyon. It would be so amazing to live close and be able to run to Phantom Ranch and back on the weekends. Not a tough 20-mile run and it would be so incredible.
I had fun running today and I love the fall colors, and the overcast sky was a dramatic contrast to the peacefulness of how I was feeling.
I was thinking about if I should do another 100-mile run for my birthday. I watched the video I made last year and I remember how much fun I had that day.
