Day 3,872 —Dropped my Car Off this Morning—

I rarely start my run from a place other than my house, or a trail, but today I started my run from the car dealership in Kirkwood. I have been meaning to have my car looked at forever because it says “Check PCS System” but it still runs mostly normal, so it has made it easy to put off getting it looked at, especially after the last time, the place I took it too really jerked me a round so that I couldn’t trust their diagnosis, they were so unhelpful, but they were close to my house.

Now, more than a year later, I am going to see what the dealership says it will take to fix it. I was planning to run from the one in the city, but they didn’t have any appointments this week, so I scheduled their first available appointment this morning.

I hadn’t planned on it being in the 20s, so I packed warm and got there a little before 7. I was heading back towards home at 7:20, and it was starting to warm up. I ran to get my packet for the Turkey Trot on Thursday, and so I went down Lockwood and over the bridge by the schools. I was running by just as students were walking to classes, and I thought about how I don’t think this has ever happened before, probably because most days I am running in that area it is either early in the morning, or no one is in school.

When I got to the Webster Community Center, it took the woman there at least 3–5 minutes to go through the process of handing me the bibs. She then handed me one pair of gloves, which is fine because I didn’t need these gloves, but I paid for two bibs, and the gloves came with them. I wish they had a cheaper price for people who want to do both the 6-mile and 3-mile race, or at least a different colored bib like they had for at least one of the races.
