Day 2,922 —Eight-Years of Streaking— with a PICTURE of MORNING FROST #707

I feel like I am usually more excited to write this and talk about my streak, but this year has been tough, and I am having a hard time mustering enthusiasm for my own streak.

I just took the local legend over on Heege hill. It has been somewhat motivating to focus on that finite goal, and I have enjoyed wandering around the newly finished Tower Tee after watching the construction for so long.

Eight-years ago in 2014, I wasn’t doing that great if I recall. I was mad about my marathon time of 3:29:47. I had done slightly better than that in both 2010 and 2011.

I was looking for something different to mix things up, so I decided to try running for 100 days straight.

I immediately found success in the next two years of my streak with a 3:18:58 time in 2015 and 3:15:22 in 2016. However, I hit another low patch in 2018 with a marathon time of 3:40:34. I was also the heaviest I had ever been. Then, I started eating vegan and had three incredibly strong years 2019, 2020, and 2021 (in 2020 I averaged over 10 miles a day).

So, I am trying to break my pattern and have a good year this year, but I don’t know; it is tough.
