Day 3,685 —Faster for a Moment—

I loved sprinting fast downhill to start this run. It was good to spend a little more time out there compared to what I have been doing, going slow for a mile and a half. There is nothing wrong with that, but it almost doesn’t even feel like a run. This was more like a run, and when I slowed down, I saw the cicadas lounging around. I wish I had my other camera, and I could have taken a picture that was in more focus, but I like the creek in the background.

I took my daughter to work today. I was so proud of her when she told me she asked me about the cicadas on the ground. She asked if they were okay, and we talked a little about bugs and what to think of them. Some might say it is dramatic to think how a person treats bugs and insects matters, but that part of the Bible about how you treat the least of these has always stuck with me. I have interpreted it as how a person treats someone who they don’t have to treat well says a lot about a person.
