Day 3,909 —Hydrogen Water, Grounding Mats, and Grocery Shopping—

I ran to the grocery store and bought an 8 pack of La Croix and 3 apples. I opened the box of La Croix, removed the cans and put them in my hydration vest. Next, I forced the three apples into the top of my vest and put it on. It wasn’t as tight as it had been on the run here, and I didn’t want to tighten it too much for fear it might break, but so far, the water wasn’t moving, and I was making it back to the house.

I wondered how much weight I was carrying in total. It felt heavier than my 10-pound vest but comparable.

There is a winter storm coming on Sunday, and part of me is scared thinking about how cold it was last winter, but maybe it will be a good thing to get this bad weather now.

I am looking forward to the Shippey 100 in two-weeks and the 200-miler I just signed up for, and it is important to keep perspective. I wish I was more optimistic for this year, but so far, it has been a struggle. There are so many things I need and should want to do, and I was hoping after the holiday I would feel more motivated to focus, and yesterday, for a few hours, I did feel I could focus.

My mom got me a grounding mat, which I tried yesterday, and I liked the effects. I always feel better after going outside barefoot, so it makes sense that this might help. The same with hydrogen water. It shouldn’t make a huge difference, but I find myself craving the special water. I wonder how it would taste if I put the water from a La Croix in the device.

I wonder if this is usually how I feel in January.  I could go back and read what I wrote last year at this time.
