Day 3,917 —Back to Staying Home: 7 Runs until the Shippey 100!—

Not so cold. I dressed in two layers and hesitated before putting on my ski goggles. So far each time I had used them I ended up putting them on top of my head, but today was different. It was snowing and not dealing with the snow hitting my head and eyes was amazing. Suddenly the snow didn’t bother me that much. I am so glad that I wore them! My daughter is back at home today for a virtual day. It doesn’t seem that the new layer of snow will stick on any of the major streets, but it still can be a hazard in other ways. There is also the factor that it is so rare that snow has stuck around this long, so most people don’t have a lot of experience with driving in the snow.

I cannot help but keep thinking about the race next week what the weather will be like then and how this weather will impact the trail. I haven’t watched the video I made or read my race report in a long time, but I remember how cold I was and being miserable so well.  I will at the very least be better prepared this time. I wish I had managed to get snow overalls that fit me, but the pair I got was too big, so I had to return them. Still, the main areas where I was cold last time I addressed with multiple hats different kinds of head coverings, and ski goggles, so far this snow has been tiresome, but not miserable, but I had the opportunity to go home and change during the day, so it is different.
