Day 3,948 —Three Rivers—

I ran places I had never gone before, and it was fun to go deeper into old Fenton. I’ve lived here since I was 4, and I cannot remember ever going into Fenton before, not because I didn’t want to; it just never came up. I have done this run before, but in the past, I have gone around Fenton Park and gone back. I looked at the map today, and I saw if I went a couple of miles I would make it to a different park. I saw a couple of places where you could put a boat in the river. It is so rare to see any boats in the Meramec, so it seems so odd to see homes by the river and parks that have huge ramps.

When I did turn around, I was at 12 and a half, so I figured I would need to go back a different way and at least add enough for a marathon. I was putting together a route in my head that took me past Rush Bowls. As I got back to Grant’s trail, it occurred to me that I typically run over one of three rivers, either the River Des Peres, the Meramec, or the Mississippi, but I have never run over all three rivers in the same run. I wonder how many miles it would take and what river I should cross first.
