Day 3,951 —Anywhere but Here—

 

There were all the signs that I wouldn’t need to go to work today. The main thing is that every other school in the area called off or is having a virtual day.

I ran later than I should have, but I kept checking my phone and looking at the news. By the time I was running, I was genuinely annoyed, and it was a struggle to enjoy the run. I also felt tired and wanted to go back to bed or spend the whole day sitting down. No such luck, my son is sick, and my daughter will be home today from school.

I checked on the ducks at the pond and it was peaceful. I looked around and wondered why I stopped hanging out there.
