Day 3,959 —Feeling Better—
My car said it was 2 degrees Fahrenheit (ca. -17 °C). I turned it on before I started running. I went part of the same route that I did yesterday, and I noticed my footsteps, which isn’t that unusual. What was unusual was that there were no one else’s footprints nearby, except some animal footprints.
I saw a rabbit run by, and I wondered how he stayed warm. Why wouldn’t he be hiding in a burrow of some kind? I don’t know enough about rabbits to know if they all live in holes in the ground, but I thought most of them did.
Even though I was feeling better, my body was still aching, and I kept thinking about how my feet felt so much heavier because of the chains, but I am glad I was wearing them.
My
dad used to have some ankle weights. I remember I tried them on once as a kid,
and it just seemed so odd to me that anyone would choose to wear them.
