Day 4,160—Morning Revery—
Did I run this morning? Where did I go? My clothes are wet, and my body feels sore. I got pictures on my phone and a route on my watch, but did I run today? Where did I go?
I went up Watson and down Edgar, looping back through Lockwood and Laclede. I ran the paths in Webster University and saw a guy sitting on the steps by the parking lot. I forget people live in the dorms, and the houses are filled with older college students, but it is rare to see any of them around. During the day, the campus will be packed with students on the walkways and cars parked in every open space, but it is empty now. Yet, the library always keeps the lights on. It used to be open 24 hours a day. I don’t know if it is anymore. Everywhere used to be open 24 hours; now I cannot name one place that is open all night. The streets are dark except for the lamplights. I run below the glow of the library.
