Day 4,169—Setbacks—

I was so tired yesterday that I fell asleep at 3:45 p.m. and missed picking up my daughter from the bus. My wife was there, but I like waiting for her, and that is part of my job every day. I stayed up until 9:45 p.m. last night watching a documentary about octopuses.

Who would have thought that the FCC would start being used as an attack dog to remove late-night show hosts from the air by threatening not to renew licenses?! Oh wait, everyone who was paying attention during the 2024 election!! Who would have thought that the education department, the department of justice, and the department of health and human services would be used to spread misinformation and target critics of the Trump worldview?! Oh, wait, everyone who was paying attention during the election cycle! I don’t know what makes me madder, knowing that this was coming or the delayed outrage of so many people who didn’t believe the writing on the wall, or thought they knew better.

I am trying not to focus on that. I am trying to focus on what I can control and make it through the day, while helping those I can. It is just hard sometimes. I also read a story this morning about how ChatGPT can get into delusional cycles with humans, which is sad because it is preventable. However, there is no incentive for businesses to prioritize consumer well-being; we see this in every industry. The government is supposed to protect people from industry taking advantage, and now the government is not just not doing its job. It is making it harder for everyone who is looking out for others to function and exist. At least I got 5 miles of running in.
