Day 4,166—Figuring It Out—
I got up exactly 5 minutes early this morning. It made a slight difference, and it was easier to go run on time. Also, I shaved and put the trash by the curb last night. It made this morning easier, and now I am thinking about buying stuff I am running out of and homework that is due tomorrow. I also still need to do so many other things. I cannot believe quarter one is almost over at school. Yet, I am not at a point where I am feeling like I am getting used to things, but I think I like being the School Counselor better than teaching so far. There were aspects of teaching that I loved and aspects that I didn’t like, but the constant pressure to teach a lesson the next day was something I thought about all the time.
I figured I needed to do at least 5 miles this morning, which never seems like a lot on the weekend, but on Monday morning, it seems like an insane amount of running. On Saturday, I think about why I cannot do more than 5 a day on weekdays. Last week, I did slightly more, but unless I run at night too, it is difficult to figure out how I can do more. Maybe I will start getting up 5 minutes earlier each day until I reach a point where I can run for closer to an hour every morning. It would only be a 15-minute difference, so would 3:45 a.m. be that difficult? For some reason, I think I should try to get up by 3:30 each morning. I am guessing it might be easier to start running at 4. I could also start to do 1-2 miles at night, but I feel like that usually just makes the next morning even harder.
