Day 4,161—Bread being Toasted, or I am Surprised to See You—
When I was running today, I saw a group of people running in the dark in Shrewsbury Park. They were running laps on the soccer field. There were glowsticks at the end of the field that they were running around. I wondered if it was the same group that I used to see at Blackburn Park, or maybe it was a sports team practicing, but I was surprised to see them. I bet they were surprised to see me, too. Yet, I felt like I was always there in the morning, so they were the outsiders, but they were probably thinking that there were more of them and only one of me, so I was the outsider.
I shaved this morning, so now I have three minutes to write this. I put bread in the toaster before I took a shower, and when I got out, I was waffled in that delicious smell of warm bread. I could almost taste it with butter. Growing up, I would make toast with butter, sometimes honey, and cinnamon on a regular basis. When I first became vegan, I only ate super healthy breads, but now I occasionally eat some unhealthy breads as a treat at least once a week. I like bread in soup and bread in spaghetti; bread makes every meal a little better. When I wasn’t vegan, I loved eating bread with eggs. Using the bread to soak up the yolk tasted filling, complicated, and invigorating all at the same time.
