Day 4,164—Suddenly Hot Outside, but the Season is Changing—

I ran this morning, but I don’t remember it that well now. I remember it was hot outside, and I ran down Big Bend for miles, all the way to the loop, and then came back a slightly different way. At first, I was thinking I would go back by the Tivoli after running some in Forest Park, but I changed my mind and went back almost exactly the way I came, which some might think is boring, but it was more about getting home in what I thought was a direct way. I also wanted to stop at the QT I passed on my way there. I stopped and got something at CVS, but I was so thirsty I needed something else.

I even walked up some hills. I needed to be home by 10 a.m., and I had slept in until 6:30, so I didn’t have a lot of time. Everyone in my house was up before me. They were playing and laughing, and my son was screaming, “Why doesn’t dada GET UP!” He growls a little when he talks, and he is always telling me that I cannot sleep and must get up whenever I am lying down for any amount of time. “Get up, DADA!” It is nice to feel needed. I will need to run more tomorrow. I think it is 5 weeks away from my next 100-mile race, but I will have to double-check. I have so much work and schoolwork to do this year as well. It will be tough to stay consistent with everything, but I've got to try! And I am looking forward to the Ozark Trail, but I still need to pick a race for my birthday. Should I settle on the Vertigo one? I don’t like the prospect of 5 loops but there are some positives of that race too.
