Day 4,314—More Time—
I decided to get up 30 minutes earlier this morning. The whole point of getting up early is not feeling rushed, but I still felt rushed before, even though I was getting up over two hours earlier than I needed to. However, I needed more. I normally like having at least an hour to run, so having only 45 minutes just wasn’t working for me. It is not like a 5-mile run is nothing, but it always seems to go by so fast. I needed just a little more time so I don’t have to rush every time I sit down to write, like I have been having to do for a while.
I was so sluggish starting out. It didn’t feel like I was running but rather lumbering like someone who has grown too big too fast, so precise movement was beyond my abilities. I like this route, which involves going down one big hill and up another. It is a nice little 6 miles, but I did a couple of turns differently this morning because I wanted to see how far they have come on the new sidewalk. At first, I was convinced they hadn’t built any additional paths, but when I saw where it started, I couldn’t remember if it was like that over the summer. There are many things to be upset about, but the existence of additional sidewalks and paths brings me happiness. It is amazing seeing how many new trails have sprung up since I have lived here. There are 140 miles of the Greenway, and sometimes I think that a 100-mile race on the trails would be a great idea. I would do it. I have thought about starting my own run there, but I would rather race in it as opposed to organizing it.
