Day 4,328—Still Cold and Tuesday—

I started running a little after 4:30 a.m., a bit later than I would have liked, but I've adjusted to it. Even though I am still planning to do a long run on Saturday, I feel like I had a good three-week training block. Each week, I covered over 70 miles and went on two long runs each weekend. February might be one of the shortest months of the year, but I have already run more miles in February than I ran in January. I can still feel the pain in my leg when I pay attention, but it is fading, which makes me happy about running again. I will see how I feel after my long run on Saturday, but I am happy I decided not to train on trails for this run. The Thunder Kiss 100 will likely have some technical parts, but overall, I think it will be on par with the difficulty of the Shippey. However, depending on the weather, it might be more forgiving but every race is different so who knows. Travis was telling me he was worried about rain, which could be a factor. I am mostly worried about the cold. It has been a troubling week so far. Beyond the current administration’s continued attack on the Constitution and the rule of law, there were also some unexpected deaths that happened. Including a woman who was killed while waiting in line at a Starbucks. It was in the local paper yesterday, and the story was just jarring. She was just waiting in line at Starbucks, and someone murdered her.
