Day 4,462—2 Runs until the Vero Beach Octopus Ultra 100: Strange Powers—

Start time: 12:10 a.m.

Weather: Mid 80s, wind 3.1 mi/h, Humidity 87%

I am leaving tomorrow to start my drive to Florida! To say I am not ready feels like an understatement. I have done so much to prepare for this run, including getting my car worked on, getting a haircut, going for acupuncture, and the normal things like shopping and putting all my stuff in plastic bags. I am not ready yet! I am also replacing the shoelaces on all three of my pairs with ones that don’t need to be tied. I have also been trying to spend as much time as possible with my family this week, and I am preparing for camping and for downtime. I am, like usual, both over- and under-prepared. I just downloaded all the gpx routes onto my phone, so that is a good thing. It took me hours to find a campground that was both on the way and a good distance away, so it is not too far but not too close, so that I can do slightly less driving on Friday. It took me forever! So many campgrounds make you register for an account before they even show you the price, and so many don’t have websites or have odd-looking websites, but I have booked a place in Georgia for tomorrow night! I also checked on my phone today, and it will be in the 90s on Saturday with fast wind and humidity at least in the 80s, but on the bright side, it is supposed to rain both days, so it should be overcast and, with any luck, some rain to cool down in the afternoon.
