Day 4,485—Found Money! and Thoughts on the Vero Beach Octopus 100 Video!—

I found two dollars today while I was running! That might be the most money I have found on the sidewalk, but I don’t know for sure. When I was 10, I remember finding a five-dollar bill blowing in the trees and thinking it was crazy that I found five whole dollars just randomly. Immediately after I found it, I suddenly had a feeling it must be too good to be true and was probably counterfeit, so I let it blow in the wind. I have done a lot of dumb things because I was afraid of being tricked or taken advantage of, but this is one of the earliest I remember. I picked up that two dollars today and put it in my pocket.

        It rained throughout this run, and while it wasn’t unpleasant, it did just take me off guard. Part of me likes running in the rain when it isn’t too cold, especially if I don’t plan to run long enough for it to be an issue for my feet, but it does impact how people drive. They don’t see you as well during the rain, so that is always something that keeps me distracted while I run, knowing that the drivers are just not looking for me today.

I was thinking today how happy I am with the Vero Beach video! I think it is my best video yet. I still have a lot of work to do with the videos, but this one feels more accurate about the ups and downs of these races.

And happy last day of July! That bathroom stuff in Florida still seems crazy, and it just keeps returning to mind. Let me know if you think I am overreacting!
