Day 3,654 —10 Years + 1—

I went to the store today and bought a balloon that my daughter lost on our walk yesterday. We were doing so well until we went across the street and she let go of the string. If it wasn’t windy that day, we might have been able to snatch the string before it flew into the middle of one of the busiest intersections in the area. It stopped in the middle of the street, before it continued to go down Laclede. I was holding my daughter as we both watch it and she kept saying, “why don’t you get it dada!”

I knew I couldn’t risk running in the street with her and I couldn’t risk going anywhere without her, so I was stuck just holding her watching the balloon fly away. So today, I went to the store and bought her a new balloon. I have never really ran with a balloon before and it wasn’t the most difficult thing to do but it did make the run more challenging. I wonder if people do that for training, strap a bunch of balloons onto a jacket, so you have to pull them along as you go. I made it home with this balloon and my daughter was so happy to see the exact same balloon that was lost yesterday that counts as a win for me.
