Day 3,659 —the “Greater St. Louis Marathon” and Where to Park? —

I just realized that the marathon has rebranded from the “Go! St. Louis” to the “Greater St. Louis,” I don’t know exactly how I feel about the new name or why it was necessary, but I love what I am seeing as the route this year. It takes some of the best parts of older versions of the race, over the bridge, starting on Market. I also love that it avoids some of the more boring parts of the race that they have done in the past e.g., Tower Grove Park, Forest Park, and the Riverway. The Riverway portion of the race last year was the worst, so I am so happy to see we’re not doing that.

I got a shirt at some point over the summer with the simple title “The St. Louis Marathon,” I don’t know why or who sent it to me. Maybe it had something to do with this race? I am not even sure where the shirt is anymore.

This picture is of my daughter’s strawberry plant that she has been watering recently. She has three strawberries so far and she is so excited to check on it each day.

I don’t know what to expect tomorrow, but I am looking forward to standing in the crowd right before the horn goes and starting the race with hundreds of other people as the noisy crowd cheers: It is going to be fun.
