Day 4,188—2-Minutes—
I was all on track to get done at a decent time, but my headlamp wouldn’t come back on after I clicked it off to take a picture. I debated running back home to get my extra battery, but I remembered how often I see people running without a light, so I thought I would give it a go. It is not like running on a trail after all. There are plenty of streetlights and atmospheric light bouncing around. It was also a full moon.
When I got back home, I spent forever trying to switch my headlamp back on after I realized the battery wasn’t dead. I must have locked the light by accident, but nothing I did worked until I switched the battery out, and it turned on again.
Sarah got me this headlamp just last year. It is the best headlamp I have ever had, but the issue with it locking is disconcerting. What if this had happened when I was running in the woods alone at night? Maybe in the future, I will try taking the battery off and putting it back on and see if that will work. The battery itself acts as a light too, which is a nice feature. Now, I am always thinking about how I wish I had bought the Garmin Fenix that had the light. It would be a much bulkier watch to wear but having that security with the light on my wrist would have been worth it.
