Day 4,201—4 Runs until the OT!—

I was thinking that this morning I would be struck with an abundance of time because I am not running as much, but here I am with only ten minutes left until I need to get dressed for work and make my lunch. It was nice waking up feeling like I am not behind and that I have a week of attempts to stretch and take it easy ahead of me. This is my 3rd day without drinking caffeine, and it has gotten surprisingly easy to take a break from caffeine this time around. I am not one hundred percent sure how big a difference it makes, but it has become part of my routine before a race, and I find it helps me with sleep and my ability to clear my head.

I saw a big deer sleeping behind the branches in the picture I posted today. You cannot see the deer, but it is there, and its antlers are massive. I tried not to wake him, like I try not to wake any of the deer. It looks like it will likely rain on Saturday, but for whatever reason, I feel like I already knew that. Jake told me to be prepared for having wet feet for most of the race, which isn’t the worst thing in the world if it is not too cold.
